As Professor of Criminology at City, University of London, Emmeline has been at the forefront of criminological research and teaching. Her extensive experience spans multiple continents and sectors, and she has authored six books, including Armed Robbers: Identity and Cultural Mythscapes in the Lucky Country (Oxford University Press, 2022). Emmeline’s expertise covers retail risk, offender behavior, surveillance technologies, and more, and she is dedicated to improving retail security and addressing critical issues such as violence against staff and criminal damage.

Her role as a member of the UK government’s National Retail Crime Strategy Group and her work with the Home Office’s task groups underscore her commitment to tackling retail crime on a systemic level. Additionally, Emmeline chairs the Business Crime Reduction Partnerships National Standards Board and is a sought-after media commentator, regularly appearing on national television to share her insights.
